Michel Chavet & Fils. St Veran
Situated in Davayé, at the foot of the rock of Solutré, the Chavet family have 12 hectares under vine.The current custodian, Christophe, is the sixth generation of Chavets to manage the Domaine. The vines, which average around 30 years old, are planted on stoney, clay-limestone soils facing south-east to south-west. The resulting wine is fine, crisp, clean, and soft with fresh minerally. A great introduction to white Burgundy, or, for the already converted, a lovely, affordable treat.

Chateau Bernadotte. Haut Medoc Bordeaux 2015
The 2015 Bernadotte shoots well above expectation. It has a clean and fresh bouquet with plenty of appealing graphite notes. The palate is medium-bodied with dusky black fruit sprinkled with black pepper, good length and nicely focused.

Yves Cuilleron. Marsanne
Yves Cuilleron is today one of the leading producers in the Northern Rhone and a driving force in the search for quality. The nose on his Masrsanne is very floral, with a palate of white fruit, citrus and green apple acidity. And a rich and creamy texture. Don't hesitate to aerate it in a decanter, it will get even better.

Chateau Ollieux Romanis, Cuvee Classique Corbieres
A delicious, ripe French red blend from Corbières in the western Languedoc. The wine is big and juicy, making it a superb foil for roasted red meats.
Ollieux Romanis make quite a selection of wines at their large family estate in the Corbières and this, the Cuvée Classique Rouge has long been a fixture on our list simply because of its quality and value for money.

Dom. Champalou. Vouvray Sec
Didier and Catherine Champalou established their 20 hectare estate in Vouvray in 1984. The Chenin grapes that go to make this vivacious Vouvray Sec are harvested in the early morning to retain their freshness. A delicate straw yellow in colour. Aromas of green apples and quince. Dry, supple and elegant on the palate with further green fruit notes. The crisp finish makes this an ideal food wine, perfect with scallops or grilled trout.
