Along with our Autumn cases, we have put together a case of wines new to our shop over the last couple of months. These are the bottles that we can't put down right now:

Pita Verdejo - Apart from the striking label resplendent with a Bustard, this wine caught our attention for extremely high-quality fruit. From Rueda in Northern Spain, this Verdejo is bright and fresh with green apple and citrus zest notes, balanced with a long finish seasoned with garden herbs.

Espera Castelao - We have taken as much wine as we can get hold of from this little Portuguese winery based just North of Lisbon. Headed by very much up and coming winemaker Rodrigo Martens, all of their wines demonstrate poise and complexity far above their station. This Castelao is bright with cherry and raspberry notes, yet rich from a year spent in French oak barrels.

Nivarius Rioja Blanco - Broad, complex and culinary white from a Rioja house that specialises in white wine! This particular bottle is very well balanced with judicious use of oak to prodice a beautifully rich and nutty style that still has plenty of freshness.

Thorny Devil Grenache - A wonderfully fruit-forward Grenache from Australia's Mclaren Vale. A joyful wine, bursting with strawberry and raspberry flavour, and evocative of this coastal area of Australia.

Gorro Loureiro - A Vinho Verde, but not as you know it. Bright with notes of citrus, but also rich and balanced with richer flavours of apricot and thyme.

Espera Palheto - More from the talented Rodrigo Martens. This wine is blend of red and white grapes, pink in colour, and a wonderfully easy to enjoy, juicy style of wine.
