Mafalda Texeira of Quinta da Raza will host a very summery wine tasting at the Beckford Bottle Shop, celebrating the wines of their estate in Portugal's Vinho Verde region.
Vinho Verde is famous for its light and slightly spritzy white wines, however, with the six wines that we have chosen for the evening, Mafalda will show you another side of this beautiful region.
Quinta da Raza's wines are a true taste of Vinho Verde, making use of traditional and native grape varieties and a varied and interesting approach to wine making.
Quinta da Raza has been in the same family since the 1759, making them the perfect estate to teach us the history of their little corner of Vinho Verde, in the southerly, Basto region. They are also the first estate in Vinho Verde to be Certified by the Wines of Portugal Sustainability Programme.
On the evening, Mafalda will host us in a tasting of our favourite wines from the estate, followed by a small plates dinner inspired by the cuisine of Northern Portugal and of course, some more wine!
The evening will commence at 6.30pm and will conclude between 9.30pm and 10.00pm, although all guests will be welcome to stay for another glass of Quinta da Raza's wine following the event!
We will be able to cater to most dietary restrictions, but please make us aware at the time of booking. We may not be able to amend the menu if requirements are changed on the week of the tasting.
