The Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level Three course is an internationally recognised, high-level course aimed at the dedicated wine enthusiast and those who need to make informed decisions or recommendations about wine for work.

The course will be held at the Beckford Bottle Shop and taught by Alex Stevenson, founder of TheDrinkSchool. Alex is a WSET Diploma holder, Certified Educator and Beer Academy Sommelier and has trained hundreds of students over the years. Alex always makes sure to entertain, while nurturing his students' interest and passion to give them a greater appreciation of the subject.

What you'll learn

• The key factors in the production of wine: location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation and bottling
• The key characteristics of the principal:
• still wines of the world
• sparkling wines of the world
• fortified wines of the world
• How to make appropriate wine recommendations
• How to taste wines using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
• Tutored tastings of over 50 wines from around the world

Timetable

The course will be held over 6 Mondays - 5 consecutive Mondays from 2nd September to 30th September, with a final session and exam on 14th October. Monday 7th October is a break day to allow for study.

The final day will include a 120 minute multiple-choice & written answer theory exam, plus a 30-minute blind-tasting exam.
